Plumbing problems rarely start with drama. They begin quietly—with small signs that are easy to ignore. If you catch them early, you avoid leaks, stains and big repair bills.
Slow drainage is a classic warning. If sinks or bathroom drains take longer than usual for water to disappear, there’s probably a partial blockage forming. Hair, soap, food bits and grease build up gradually. Don’t wait until it’s fully clogged and overflowing.
Damp patches on walls, bubbles in paint or white crusty marks on tiles can indicate moisture behind the surface. That might mean a leaking pipe in the wall, a bad joint or seepage from the flat above.
Persistent dripping taps are more than just annoying. They waste water and hint that internal parts are worn out. Replacing washers or cartridges early is cheaper than fixing damaged fittings later.
Strange sounds—banging pipes, whistling when you open taps—are also worth checking. They can point to pressure issues or loose pipes.
If something feels “off” with your water flow, pressure or drainage, don’t brush it aside. A quick check from a plumber now is far cheaper than breaking tiles and repairing furniture later.
